So, a little about Becky (featured below with her wooden skeleton "Sid")...

She describes herself as a “skinny, old crone trapped in the body of an overly nice and cuddly teenager”...but hey, who’s complaining?!

Me

Born in a wee place called TonbridgeEngland Becky is presently settled in sunny Tauranga. In 2008 she completed the two year art diploma - Aka Rakai Toi - at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic. Becky has exhibited in five shows across the North Island and was named a semi-finalist in the Empire Arts National Youth Art Awards hosted at the Empire Gallery in Cambridge.

She has been doing art since she was permitted to use a pencil. Although art is her passion she also loves music, fantasy books and Japanese anime and manga. The latter has influenced her stylized form of illustration; her current pieces are a combination of ink washed backgrounds and detailed line drawings that depict a by-gone age with a modern twist.

In the future, Becky wants to publish her own graphic novel and is determined to show people that cartooning and illustration is not merely “doodling” but a valid form of expression and is just as important as the rest of the art world.

However, this year (as well as battling for illustrators rights)  Becky is looking to gain some life experience in the art world and after that hopes to go to University to further her study in fine art.
